Grant funds county DUI
Misdemeanor DUI offenders have not had sufficient offenses to reach felony status. The new officer will begin work Monday, March 27. The county’s three current misdemeanor probation officers have about 360 cases each. About 50 percent of them are DUI cases.
NEW HAVEN — A school principal from New Haven will not face discipline from the school system for a DUI arrest. Police say 50-year-old Celeste Davis — the principal of Katherine Brennan Elementary — had a blood alcohol level of more than three times the legal limit while driving in late February.
