Governor signs bill toughening
Governor Kenny Guinn signed a bill at the state capital Wednesday that will make convicted drunk drivers face tougher charges if they repeat their crimes.
It was a busy Memorial Day weekend for local law enforcement agencies. Although there were no alcohol-related fatal car accidents over the three-day holiday weekend in Sonoma County, the area saw a large increase in DUI arrests.
